Farm Events

We don't just grow food, we grow community

The quiet, calm, and beauty of the Farm are all something to be shared, and we want to share it with you. Enjoyment of these tranquil spaces should be a regular part of everyone's life - to nourish your soul, to immerse yourself in nature, and to connect with your community.

Most of our events are free for Farm Members, you'll find details in the newsletter.

Outdoor Kirtan with Caroline Śraddhā Monette

Saturday, September 24, 2-4pm

The seasons are shifting, the summer is drawing to a close, and there is no better way to mark this shift than communing with the natural world through music and chanting in the tranquillity of the farm fields!

The chanting will be led by Śraddhā (Caroline), who draws upon a vast repertoire of devotional chants from a wide cross-cultural, multi-faith background. I (Farmer Jo) have really enjoyed Caroline's ability to put people at ease and guide them in this practice with her powerful voice and guitar.

No experience or musical skills required. Children are welcome but we ask that they be willing and able to maintain a calm atmosphere.

Event is being held by donation. Rain or shine in the event tent

Drop in Fermenting Workshop with Jolianne

Thursday, September 29: 11:30-12:30 - Focus on Sauerkraut

Saturday, October 8: 10:30-11:30 - Focus on Kimchi

Have you been wanting to try fermenting your own vegetables but want a little help from an expert before taking the leap? Jolianne is here to help! She has been making lacto ferments for years and has tried it all. Join her outside the Farm Store on September 29 and October 8 to have her help you make your very own ferments to bring home. This is a drop-in event that you can visit at anytime during the scheduled time, to either have Jolianne help you make your own ferment, or simply answer your questions.

If you are going to make your own ferment please bring:

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Mandolin (if you have one)
  • large mixing bowl
  • Large jar with lid
  • Wooden spoon
  • Salt (non-iodised)
  • Wide mouth canning funnel (if you have one)
  • Any spices you'd like to add (ie. dill seed, caraway, chill flakes, etc.)

Grab some veggies from the Farm Store and let's get fermenting!

Volunteer Days at the Farm

Tuesdays & Thursday 1-4pm

Want to get your hands dirty and see what it's like to work on a small-scale organic farm? Come and volunteer at the Farm! Just come once, or make it a regular addition to your schedule.

Send an email to letting us know a little bit about yourself, your interest in farming, and we'll get you scheduled!

Note: Field work is very physical and requires a high level of mobility, flexibility, and strength. Let us know if you have any physical limitations when you email so we can plan appropriately.

Keep an eye on this space, Facebook, or Instagram to stay in the loop. Or why not sign up for our newsletter and get all the Farm info straight to your inbox?
