Pasture raise eggs from a colective of Amish and Menonite farms near Aylmer ON. They raise hens in small flocks (as the name suggests) of 100 to 500 birds in mobile chicken coops on pasture. In summer, movable shelters are always kept on fresh grass and in winter dried legumes provide lots of loose litter for hens to play and scratch in. These happy hens eat grass or GMO-free grain and veggie scraps, with full access to nest boxes or perches. Approximately 2/3 of the grain that is fed is organic and 1/3 conventional GMO-Free.
